Baylor University is located in Waco, Texas. Waco is located about halfway between the cities of Dallas and Austin. According to the 2010 census, the city has a population 124,805 people. Much of the city's industry is located along the Brazos River. The city is largely considered a service oriented community. Major attractions include the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and several quality museums.

In recent years, the men's football team has qualified for BCS bowl games and The Lady Bears have won national championships in basketball in 2004 and 2012.
