THE WORLDWIDE PLIGHT OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS |
||
![]() |
Most people tend
to think of public schooling's ills as though they were unique to their own community or
country. In reality, the same problems afflict state-run educational institutions all over
the world. This is because low academic achievement, high spending, conflict over the
curriculum, etc. are encouraged by the government operation of schools, and are not simply
the result of the poor quality teachers or administrators. Once this fact is realized, we will be well on the way to identifying and eliminating the systemic causes of educational failure. The following links provide a small sampling of the difficulties facing public schools around the world. |
