Chattahoochee Technical College

Eight unique campuses are included within Chattahoochee Technical College. The college is located in north Georgia, northwest of Atlanta. All college campuses are in suburban settings. They are close to all the energy, action and excitement of the neighboring and cosmopolitan city of Atlanta.

Chattahoochee Technical College was founded in 1963 and is named for the nearby Chattahoochee River. It is a two-year state college. The most prominent academic emphasis is on health care, technology programs and television production education.

Degrees Offered And Accreditation

A variety of diplomas, associate degrees, non-credit courses and certificate programs are offered by Chattahoochee Technical College. Classes are delivered in a traditional on-campus setting or through online distance learning programs that were created to be convenient for working adult learners. Chattahoochee Technical College is accredited by the Southern Association Of Colleges And Schools, (SACS).

Extracurricular Interests Are Encouraged

Students enrolled in the school's television video production program produce some television programs aired on Cobb edTV station, which is the local educational access channel. Many Chattahoochee Technical College students are also active in Atlanta area community outreach programs, volunteer programs and clubs with focuses on specific career interests.

Students are encouraged to take part in extracurricular activities both on and off campus. The school philosophy is that community participation helps students to become better leaders, develop friendships and to become engaged participants and good citizens in Atlanta and in the surrounding communities.

Chattahoochee Community College Received Support From Prominent Atlanta Citizen

The family of the late Frank Gordy, former owner of one of Atlanta's landmark restaurants called The Varsity, donated the land where Mountain View campus of Chattahoochee Technical College now sits. The land was donated to Cobb County, Georgia, for the purpose of housing this extension of the college.
