California State University Fullerton, better known as Cal State Fullerton, is one of the premier colleges in the United States. Located in Fullerton, the school is in the heart of Southern California, being located less than 25 miles from Los Angeles. Created in 1957, the university is home to 37,000 students representing the United States and 79 other nations. Offering 107 degree programs, it's accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. With a Student Recreation Center, a $48 million Performing Arts Center and an $88 million Business School the university is poised to continue its excellent tradition of teaching and research.

Cal State Fullerton is an institution that has a huge impact on its area. The school generates over $1 billion yearly in regional and statewide economic activity, and sustains close to 9,000 jobs. Awarding degrees to more than 215,000 students over the course of its history, Cal State Fullerton is known for producing national and international leaders in education, business, government service and the arts.

Offering certificate programs as well as Bachelor's degrees earned in-person or online, CSF gives students opportunities to study in almost any field they wish. Degrees are offered in such fields as Biochemistry, Criminal Justice, Radio and Television and Public Administration. Known for placing an emphasis on international studies, the school works with a number of international universities in research and other cooperative efforts. For example, it's currently working with Vietnam National University to exchange not only students, but also provide training to Vietnam students, faculty and city government.

With its value on education as high as any school, CSF has chosen to participate in the Open University. This collaboration of some of the nation's to academic schools including Yale, Stanford University and MIT has opened up access for higher learning to people worldwide. The Open University allows people anywhere in the world to have access to class notes and materials used in the teaching of these classes. While non-credit, they are free and offer the chance to get the same learning experience without having to worry about the costs.

A number of notable alumni have passed through this school's classrooms and campuses over the years. Graduates of the school include television producer Marc Cherry, who rose to fame writing and producing the hit tv shows "The Golden Girls" and "Desperate Housewives." Other graduates have gone on to fine public service careers, including Superior Court Judge in Orange County Elizabeth Macias.
